‘Oumuamua is back! Well, not physically, but some scientists won’t leave this pesky little enigma alone.
After a long weekend of binge-watching every Star Trek TV episode, returned to the conclusion that ‘Oumuamua could very well be an alien probe or artifact. I suppose funding choices go to the science projects with the coolest titles.
Anyway, I came across a refreshingly snarky pseudo-interview that had me chuckling by the end.
For the record, I’m geeky enough to believe ‘Oumuamua is an alien doohickey.
I agree that ‘Oumuamua’s increase in speed is suspiciously out of character for the usual ‘roids and comets. I’m willing to turn a blind eye to the unlikely scenario that very distant aliens sent a probe millions of years ago just so it could whiz between our sun and Mercury before dashing out of our solar system along a new trajectory. ‘Oumuamua was here for only a few months and never flew close to our habitable zone.
Seems like a significant waste of resources to me. So, it’s probably just a skyscraper-sized hunk of crud, but it sure is fun speculating that the thing might be an alien craft after all. Who among us is qualified to prove this gaggle of scientists wrong?
Have a nice day.

Sounds like the (old) Star Wars 4 plot where a space rock is innocently destroying earth while trying to communicate with the then extinct humpback whale. Hope this one isn't looking for intelligent life!
